Both of the two camera has the compact body, The dimensions of SX260 HS is 4.2 x 1.3 x 2.4 inches and the Lumix ZS20 is 4.1 x 1.1 x 2.3 inches, With the result of a bit bigger size of Canon SX260, The weight is also beyond ZS20′s, I think the 20x 25mm – 500mm Lens is the main cause.

The good idea of Panasonic Lumix ZS20 is the 3 inch screen that has the same resolution with the Canon Powershot SX260, But it is a touchscreen, I don’t know you like the touchscreen or not, But for me, I think i will choose the touchscreen on the table if you want me to pick the better from two screen types, Because it’s easy to use and looks very cool.

The winner of continuous shooting speed comparison is Panasonic ZS20(10fps), But it failed in shutter speed. but i think the ZS20 is better to get if you like the continuous shooting, Because of the speed of SX260 is only 3.5fps.
It is hard to compare the image quality as the two digital cameras have the similar sensor, But the ZS20 comes with the 23 focus areas that is more than 9 points of SX260 HS, And general speaking, I think the more focus point the better image quality.Though both of camera has a good low light performance, Please ignore the high light setting.
To record to good video is the main desire for videographers, If you are one of them, The Panasonic Lumix ZS20 can do the this job better which has the 1080P video mode with 60fps frame rate, But the the frame rate of the SX260 HS is about 24fps that has been criticized by the media.

How about the Battery?
Although i don’t like the weak battery life either Canon Powershot SX260 HS or Panasonic Lumix ZS20, But the ZS20 can shoot 260 image on the fully battery, And you can find the 210 shots battery life of SX260 HS that is a little lower.

In a word, Even the price of SX260 is higher, But the winner of all-round strength is the Panasonic Lumix ZS20 that is worth buying.
