Both of Sony A77 and Canon 7D shared the 3.0 inch LCD monitor Which has 921k dots of resolution, The sharpness is excellent is no need to worry, But the screen in Sony SLT A77 is a tilting screen, But the Canon 7D’s is fixed. The titling maybe extend the size but helpful for shooting any angle scenes, I think i like the it.
The Canon 7D won the battery comparison by the 850 shots on fully recharged battery which is much higher than 510 shots in Sony A77. If you like taking photos outside, The Canon EOS 7D is better to use.
